"I had ordered a set of these Grip Strips a few months ago. I love them!...There's nothing more frustrating than having the ruler move or shift when you are cutting fabric! It's a wonderful invention.
I have used the little sandpaper circles or the clear plastic circles, but haven't been pleased with them.
So, this order is another order for myself and for my three quilting friends who want to have them for their rulers. I know they will love them as I do. I put them on my 24-inch ruler and my 14-inch ruler. I have some other rulers I want to put the strips on, and will probably order more in the future.
You have many other products that I want to take a look at and see what else I can use. Your web site is really great..."

...just a note on your Grip Strips. At last you have given us a tool that honest to goodness works to keep our rulers from slipping. I was a little bit dubious when I ordered one but as you can see I ordered 4 of them today. It is more than worthwhile. One of them is going to my daughter but the Mama gets the other 3. Thanks so very much and I should've known they would work because I have your rulers and I am swinging on a star now. I had an auto accident a couple of years ago and it left me with only one leg. It has been very difficult to cut a piece of fabric But NO More. Can't thank you enough.

I love these (Finished Size Quilting Sets), I have purchased them in the past for myself and my sister. I am ordering this set for my quilting friend. As I get older and the brain cells slow down I find them very easy to use and to compute the size of blocks need. The directions are very easy to follow.

"Grip Strips...help on ALL rulers, and are a godsend on square rulers where precision is everything. ... Also, since they raise the ruler slightly, you can
easily work them over bulky seams that need to be cut...”
Ruth Wesseling - Belmont, MI
On Monday I cut the side of my left index finger and part of the nail and nailbed off with my rotary cutter. It is extremely painful, feels just as bad as you think it will when you hear those words. For way less than the cost of my co-pay for going to the ER, I could have prevented this accident by having Finger Guards on my rulers.
Don't think you are careful enough for this not to happen to you, I WAS being careful, or so I thought. I urge everyone to get Finger Guards for every ruler they have. Believe me, you don't want to go through this! I recommend your rulers and/or your Finger Guards to everyone who uses a rotary cutter.

I am a person who cannot draw a straight line with a ruler. I am equally inept when cutting fabric. I waited a long time to receive your new connectible ruler which you guaranteed would not slip and that it would cut perfect strips each and every time.
So let me tell you what I think of your product; IT IS WONDERFUL! I received the rulers yesterday and immediately started on my new project. It took a little effort to get the two rulers connected, but I am assuming it is because they are a little stiff from being brand new. I set the rulers for the size strip I wanted, and to my amazement, the ruler did not slip and the strips were perfect.
I am left-handed and this product easily worked for me. Congratulations! It was worth the wait.
Jane Carhart / Morris, IL
Your Grip Strips are amazing. I saw your ad, ordered a pack, tried them one time and ordered more. I have Grip Stripped every ruler I own. I worked in a fabric store and have tried every product I could find to keep my rulers from slipping. Nothing worked until I found Grip Strips!... These truly are the best thing that has happened to the quilting world in years. Read the entire comments.

I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your site, for it has brought back so many memories as to how to do things, and much easier then the "old" ways of doing some things. I haven't quilted in over 30+ yrs., and didn't know how much I have missed it till getting back in the swing of things. Thanks for your time!
Jane York - West Melbourne, FL
I appreciate your answer to my question and help that I received during the phone call. This pattern goes by many names and churn dash is used by you. The phone call was very helpful and the block is fitting together perfectly! Your products are excellent and the help you provide is appreciated.

... Thank you for your excellent tutorials. I'm anxious to try the Prep Tool as a point trimmer to gain more accuracy in my piecing. I think the 1/4" positioner will be especially useful when doing group projects to set an exact scant seam allowance. A scant qtr. inch was something it took me many years to understand, so I think this would be especially helpful to new quilters.

I love my Quilt Ruler Connector so much that I ordered 5 more to share with my friends at a Christmas party.
Tammy - Walters, OK
Ordered my Finger Guards on Thursday, got a notice it had been shipped that day, received it on Saturday!!! What great service!! Loved it, used yesterday and did not feel the need to take the extra couple of seconds to make sure my fingers were out of harm’s way. Thanks for providing such a good and affordable tool. I have recommended this to people on two message boards that I frequent.
Cynthia Hoisington - NC
I ordered your Grip Strips before Christmas and they are wonderful! I've tried every available product to keep my 24" ruler from slipping out of place and .....at last...something that works. I sure appreciate some smart person's ingenuity.

"I recently purchased two of the 12 inch rulers and the connector so that I can easily pack and carry a 24 inch ruler to my classes. It seems to be working great! I can put them together as one long piece, or as a right angle to square up the edges of a quilt. I love the fabric guide so I can set the strip width and then cut without too much fuss! I would highly recommend this product!"
Jackie, the Whimsicals Mom - Lafayette, IN
I really love the ruler! It does not slip at all. I have tried numerous brands of rulers, with varying degrees of success as far as slipping goes. I have hand problems, and this ruler makes a big difference in fatigue....no more "finger walking" down the ruler and straightening the edge of the fabric. Your web site is great also..simple to visit and informative. Thanks for a great product!

My first mystery quilt saved by Prep Tool

...I was not an experienced quilter when I decided to take part in this quilt, and my first 4 blocks or so came out awful and did not come out the right size and I thought I would not get through this project and just quit. I was piecing by hand and trying to mark my seam allowance with a ruler and just not getting the ¼ inch seam right on any of the pieces, causing the blocks to be all different sizes than they were supposed to be. Then I went to a local quilt show and picked up something called the Prep Tool made by Guidelines4quilting and started marking my seam allowances with that tool, and from then on everything fit together and I was amazed how the final assembly went together perfectly. I just wanted to drop you a note .... I was doing the fabshop hop and while looking for the bunny in the FAQ section I stopped and read the questions and answers and wanted to let you know you had some answers to some of my questions in there!! I learned a lot by reading your questions and answers.
Thanks , I will be back !!!

Thank you for the ruler. I just finished a quilt top. I tried it out and I have to say . . . W-O-W!!! I will NEVER use another ruler again!!!! This is amazing! I absolutely love it. My cuts are much more accurate as the ruler doesn't slip at all and I can cut out pieces so much faster with the marker in place. This is the coolest invention ever. I can't believe I waited so long to try it. What was I thinking!
Cristy Adamski - WI (her second comments)
I made a quilt for my nephew for his graduation present this year. I used your new ruler and love it. I literally got the entire quilt top done in 2 days!!! Makes things go amazingly fast.

"I love your ruler and attachments for the 1/2, 1/4 square cuts!
Last June I was in an auto accident where I de-gloved my left hand....this made it almost impossible to use a rotary blade and ruler to cut...ONLY your system has made this possible again for me.
Thank you SO much for your products!!!!!!!!
Margaret -Scotland
Last night, I cut the strips for binding
my quilt and the ruler worked wonderfully
- no slipping!

I played FabShop Hops last year and bought your system and I'm playing again this year and bought the two parts I did not have. Great system.

I bought your ruler at the International Quilt Festival in Houston two years ago, and I use it all the time. I just wanted you to know how much I love my ruler and that I just took it to class with me, and everyone fell in love with it. Thanks for making my job easier.

"...Last night I spent
a considerable amount of time on your website
really reading through the instructions. The
information I needed was all there. Well
presented, easy to understand and thorough. Thank
you.
I am now using your (now mine) ruler and
I am really pleased! Matter of fact, your ruler
is so stable and easy to read, I have almost
dispensed with the fabric guides (smile). There is a very large and diverse
family of different brands and styles of acrylic
rulers on the wall of my design room. The money
I would have saved had your product existed
when I began quilting would buy a whole lot
of cloth! I am using your ruler right now to
cut a large assortment of strips for a scrap
quilt and the wonderful thing I can report
is LACK OF FATIGUE!
The ruler really does
not slide at all. Very little pressure
is needed to keep it in place. Also,
it really is easier for me to read. Lack
of strain on my left (rulerholding) hand
and shoulder, coupled with the fact that my
eyes aren't worn out trying to see the numbers
and tick marks is what I hoped this
ruler would do for me. Wow! Those
benefits are enough for me to feel that
my $$ were well spent! Thank you for a well designed product. I hope
you do well in the marketplace."

"The more I use your ruler the more I love it. There's no way I'd want
to be without it now and I still look forward
to the day you make it in other sizes as
well.
Yesterday I had to cut out a lot of HSTs
for a baby quilt commission and the quickness,
ease of use, and accuracy of the Guidelines
ruler is sheer pleasure, besides which I
had them all cut out and ready to sew in
a fraction of the time I would spend with
any other ruler!"

Just found your site and loved it. If I knew the information about 'built-in' pattern error with sizing, it had been long forgotten. BUT the result after sewing blocks has 'haunted' me in trying to figure out what I've been doing wrong. Mystery Solved!
Thanks again for your wonderful site; have sent it to several quilting friends already and will present it to my guilds at the next meeting date. I'm excited to share your tutorial on block sizing/resizing as it is a FREQUENTLY asked question, and most shy away from the math which I can attest to being program chair. You have explained it in such a manner that even 'math phobes' will be able to tackle without much angst! THANK YOU!
Judy Miller - Eagle River, AK
I cut out over two hundred 2½" squares today using your ruler. It took me 2 hours. If I had done it with a regular ruler, I’d still have some to cut tomorrow. This is the first time I have used the ruler and I am amazed.
Anita - Gidden, WI
If you are mixing squares and half squares and quarter squares the math is perfect. you put the yellow guide on the line for your unit finished size and add one of the 3 strips that calculate the rest. I used it for the attached pic. ...

I seem to write about this every week, but I will continue to tell everyone because it is so great. It is called a Prep Tool. It gives you a scant 1/4" seam. ... It is good for more than a scant 1/4" seam. They also sell Seam Guides that stick on your sewing machine. They leave no sticky residue. They are inexpensive. I love this tool! I have used it on all of my sewing machines and have the Seam Guides on all my sewing machines. I have scant 1/4" seams every time. I use 2 seam guides in a row. One behind the other. Try the prep tool. You will love it!!
Mary Ann Cooke / Taipei, Taiwan
I’m very excited about all the info I read on your website, and I’m looking forward to actually trying these out. A light bulb went off in my head – So THAT’s why I have so much trouble with the math when designing my quilts! Thanks so much!!!

"My friend, Judy of Endeavour Hills, Australia ordered your kit and she demonstrated it to me. I love it and have just ordered from your very well set up site. Love the little animations. Your product is marvelous! Wish I had known about it ages ago."
"Hello again,
I have received my Guidelines Kit and am thrilled with the accuracy I can achieve with these wonderful rulers. And I save so much time in my fabric cutting, so can get onto the sewing very quickly. I also love the Prep-Tool that allows me to trim triangles, what a great idea. It makes lining up the triangles much more accurate. And now I see that you have seam guides for the sewing machine – I wish I had noticed them when I placed my order. I will just have to do another order! Thank you for your excellent service – my order arrived in Australia just a week after I placed my order."

A friend of mine asked me to help
her cut some strips for a class we were taking
and there were quite a few to be cut. She
had an AccuCut® and it took me quit a while.
I was really tired by the time I got home,
but decided to cut mine out with my new Guidelines ruler. It took me only half
the time to cut the same strips for the
class and it didn't tire me out nearly
as much. I have since used my Guidelines4Quilting's
system several times and I just love it.
Great work!
Libby Wheeler - Ontario, Canada
I have to tell you how pleased I am with my new rulers, which I received this week after ordering online. I was surprised to receive them so quickly after ordering.
I can't believe how simple they made the cutting process. Using the two rulers made it easy to cut 8" squares, divide them into 2 ½" strips, and then turn them into nine-patch blocks in a matter of minutes.
I was amazed. Since I love to use up scraps, these new rulers will make the process of cutting small pieces a breeze... .
Libby Wheeler - Ontario, Canada
This is the second time I have written to comment on how much I enjoy your self-aligning rulers. For the past few days, I have been cutting small scraps into squares. I set each guide differently, thus I had four measurements: 1½”, 2”, 2½” and 3”. It was so easy just to measure the scrap for the largest possible square, and then cut--with no slipping!. I now have hundreds of squares ready for scrap quilts. Thank you again for creating these rulers!
Jo Ann - Mentor, OH
I received one of your Prep-Tools as a gift and wasn't sure exactly how to use it. Fortunately I viewed your website as part of the April Shop Hop and saw your instructional Flash Animations on how to use this tool.
Kudos to you for excellent and easy to understand directions on all your tools. I will be visiting and purchasing more items from you soon based on this visit. Keep up the great work! Thank you.

I just enjoy using the Triangle Additions for regular rulers that I purchased a while back and am looking forward to adding this Guidelines Ruler set to them. I make 'Quilts of Valor' and 'Quilts for Kids' and these make cutting and piecing so easy.

I found a nifty item so I won't cut myself with my rotary cutter. I found these acrylic strip guards at Guidelines4quilting the other day and I just got them in the mail today. They have suction cups on the bottom of them and two of them fit my long ruler. They are about 1/2-1" tall and stand straight (vertical) up right against your ruler so your rotary cutter can't jump off the mat and onto your ruler.
Um, I can't think of the word for them, senior moment right now, but they are vertical and go along your ruler. They are a perfect idea for me. I've cut myself too many times. I know I have the glove, but I never wear it. Go to www.guidelines4quilting.com and you'll see them.
These are perfect. I can put one on a 6 1/2x 12 1/2, 2 on a 12 1/2x 12 1/2, and 2 on a 6 1/2x 24. They come 2 to a package. I can't remember the price.
Good grief, I'm still having a senior moment. They are getting longer and longer the older I get. It's like the word is on the tip of my tongue and I can't get it out. I'll wake up at 3 am and say the word out loud and then go back to sleep.
They're called "Finger Guards". Thanks, Jeanne for your comments! - Guidelines4Quilting Team

"..I'm embarrassed to
admit that I've been quilting for fifteen
years and have had trouble with flying geese the whole time, cutting off points when sewing
the triangles together. You'd never believe
I was a math major in college and have such
trouble with the math of triangles in quilting!
No more! I experimented with the Guidelines
and now I'll tackle more half-square and
even quarter-square projects without worry!
Thank you for inventing this so-easy-to-use
system."

I have to tell you the Prep-Tool is one of
the best tools I’ve ever used in quilting.
I have designed a quilt with a pieced border.
Trimming the triangles with
this tool made putting those blocks together
so simple. I was very
impressed! I am including it in the instructions
under Other Items. When I
do the kits, it will be included in each one.
I also pieced some diamonds into Tumbling
Blocks. They went together so
nicely. I have some sewn up to show people
how easy it is to make that
block. I decided to use some of the fabric
I have on hand to make a Tumbling
Block quilt. I have enough fabric to make kits
for that and will include the
Prep Tool in those as well.

I bought your Finger Guards and I love them! They are so nimble and sturdy. I can finally let the kids cut their own fabric.
